Early Childhood Programs

For over 40 years, Northeast Institute of Gymnastics has been helping children grow stronger in body, skills, and confidence. We are a family-owned gym that believes every child deserves to feel supported, encouraged, and proud of their progress. Our goal isn’t just to teach skills; it’s to help kids build resilience, respect, and a love of movement that lasts. When families choose Northeast, they’re choosing a place where children are known, valued, and truly cared for.

At Northeast, your child is not just another number. They (and you!) are part of our gym family.
We believe gymnastics should: build kids up -- not stress them out, challenge them without breaking their confidence, and teach life skills that last beyond the gym.
Here's what you can expect when you join Northeast Gymnastics:
Some gymnastics programs move very quickly or focus mainly on skills and competition. At Northeast, we believe strong skills start with confident kids.
We build confidence, character, and respect alongside gymnastics skills
Every child moves at their own pace, which reduces the possibility of overwhelm
Effort matters just as much as ability
We celebrate progress - big and small!
Kids are encouraged, not compared
We want children to leave class feeling proud of themselves!

Walking into a gym shouldn’t feel intimidating!
We focus on creating a positive environment where everyone feels like family. At Northeast, children are treated with kindness and respect, and questions are always welcome. We strive to build trust with both kids and parents so everyone feels informed, heard, and welcomed.
Unlike larger gyms, we keep classes small so kids don't get lost.
Our coaches know students by name, and evaluate students based on readiness -- not just age or scheduling. We give feedback and attention that helps, encourage their wins and effort, and we always keep parents informed about progress. We really want kids to know they are seen, heard, and supported.
Great coaching is about more than teaching skills.
Safety always comes first
Encouragement comes before correction
We build trust before pushing harder skills
Kids learn to believe in themselves
When children feel safe and supported, they thrive.

Some programs push early competition or fast advancement.
We believe progress should feel steady and healthy.
Clear path from beginner through team
Recreational gymnasts are never rushed or compared
Competitive opportunities are available only when the child is ready - no burnout or overwhelm here!
We focus on long-term growth, not quick results

When children feel safe and supported, they thrive.
